What is called ‘mind’ is a wondrous power residing in the Self. It causes all thoughts to arise. Apart from thoughts, there is no such thing as mind. Therefore, thought is the nature of mind.

Apart from thoughts, there is no independent entity called the world. In deep sleep there are no thoughts, and there is no world. In the states of waking and dream, there are thoughts, and there is a world also.

Do you find it difficult to hold your attention fixed on one subject or thought longer than a few seconds, before getting distracted by other thoughts or sense impressions? There are several obstacles to concentration that everyone faces, but these obstacles can be surmounted.

What are the obstacles to concentration?

Sometimes people ask whether it is possible to win the lottery by using creative visualization.

There are millions of people who desire to win the lottery. Some spend more time thinking about winning, while others just pay for a ticket and don’t spend too much time thinking about it. Some visualize their number winning, while others just visualize winning, without referring to a particular ticket number.

There is just one big prize in each draw, so usually, only one person can win it. This means that if you want to influence the winning number with the power of your thoughts, this power has to be stronger than the combined power of thoughts of all the millions of people that are expecting to win. This is quite impossible, unless you possess tremendous powers of concentration. Usually, the mental energy you put forth through visualization is neutralized by the thoughts of all the other millions of people, all desiring and expecting to win. Under such circumstances it is quite unreasonable to believe that you can influence the winning number.

In order to make the law of attraction work for you, it is not enough just to visualize for a few times, and then wait for miracles to happen.

You need to have a strong desire and motivation, and the commitment to do whatever is necessary to achieve your goal.

You need persistence, concentration, the ability to visualize, and at least some degree of self-discipline.

You need to learn to recognize opportunity when it appears, and to be willing and ready to take and use this opportunity.

You need to be willing to act and take the required steps whenever needed, and not just wait for your desires to materialize from thin air or suddenly drop on you from the sky.

In order to take full advantage of the law of attraction you need to know certain rules and follow them. It is true, some people achieve great success, without knowing much or anything about the law of attraction, but they intuitively use it correctly.

The law of attraction is not a method for getting rich quickly, without doing anything. It requires mental work, focus and visualization, and also the willingness to follow the mental work with any other necessary activity.
