A Separate Soul or One Spirit

By Remez Sasson

Do you believe you have a soul? Wait, before you answer. If you believe that you have a soul, it is like saying that it is something that you own, then who is it that owns this soul? Who is it that says that he or she owns a soul? Is it your body or maybe your mind saying so? Are there two entities, you and a soul? If this is so, that you are not the soul, you only own one. Confusing?

Could it be the other way around, and that you are the soul, who owns or inhabits a body?

There is another option. Consider the option that there is just one entity, spirit, soul, power, God, the terminology is not so important, which fills the whole Universe, and which activates and manifests through different forms that we call trees, planets animals and people.

This power is like electricity that comes from the same powerhouse, and which activates many different electrical instruments.

If you accept this idea, you will have to accept that all differences between people, nations and religions is only apparent. All are part of one indivisible power, which manifests through different vehicles. As the brain and nerve system of each individual is built a bit different from others, the Spirit manifests in the external world differently through each body, which makes the differences between people.

Taking electricity again as an example, it is the same power that makes an oven, a vacuum cleaner or a radio work. Each instrument was built for a different purpose and was constructed differently. It is the same with all living forms. There are differences in the outer form, behavior and ideas of people, but yet, it is the same Spirit – Consciousness making them all active and alive. It is the same consciousness manifesting through different vehicles.

Complicated? Not really, if you think a little about this subject.

How To Establish A Budget

By Remez Sasson

Do you know how much money you earn and how much you spend?
Do you earn more than you spend?
Do you know where your money is going?

These are questions you should ask yourself in order to establish a personal or family budget, and keep track your earnings and your expenditure. Establishing a budget can help you keep track of every amount of money that comes in or goes out, and helps you save money and reduce debt.

A personal or family budget provides understanding of your expenses, and how you can reduce them. It helps you manage your income so it meets or exceeds expenses.

1) Start by summing up all the expenses of last month and compare the amount to the amount you earned. If you earned more than you spend that’s great, but if your expenses were higher than your earnings, consider this as a red flag, warning you to rectify the situation.

2) Divide your list of expenses into two lists, one list covering fixed bills and expenses on clothing, transportation, services and food, and another list for other expenses, such as entertainment, restaurants or vacations. Find out where you can cut off, where you can postpone the purchase, and which of these expenses are not really necessary.

Focusing on Your Actions

By Remez Sasson

Do you focus your mind on what you are doing, or do you do one thing, but think about something else at the same time?

Do you work, eat, dress up or do anything else, but daydream while doing so?

Do you align your thoughts with your actions, or are they two separate activities?

Doing one thing, while thinking or daydreaming on something else divides your energy, which means less energy and attention are channeled into your actions and thinking. This causes absentmindedness, tiredness, lack of attention and mistakes.

Try this exercise. Next time you have a shower, focus on the act of washing, while dressing up, focus on the act of dressing, and while preparing a meal, focus on what you are doing.

Can you keep your mind on what you are doing, or do you start thinking unrelated thoughts after a short while?

Focusing your thoughts on your actions saves you lot energy, empty mental chatter, mistakes and errors.

Focusing your mind and thoughts on your actions enables you to work and study more efficiently, do fewer mistakes, and perform everything faster and better.

Focusing on your actions is a great way to stop the constant buzz of the mind and enjoy inner peace.

Everyone Has Goals

By Remez Sasson

All of us have goals, even if we don’t consider them as goals. A goal need not be something big and spectacular. Not everyone wants to become a millionaire, own a company, become a businessman, a politician or a famous actor or singer. Most people want just a happy and comfortable life, and their goals are therefore ordinary and simple ones.

Most people want to find a good job, keep their current job, and be promoted in their current job. There are people whose goal is to go to college and graduate. Others wish to travel abroad or take a vacation. Some desire to find love, and others want to be healthy. Building a muscular body, learning to swim, learning to speak a foreign language, or just the desire look and dress good are also goals.

Even the desire to have enough money to shop, to have fun or make life more comfortable and enjoyable are goals.

Most of these goals are achievable and within reach, and can fill most of our time. When fulfilled, we either try to repeat them again and again, or move to other similar sized goals.

You see, even if you think that you don’t have any goals, you actually have them and work toward achieving them.

How can you increase your chances of success? Planning ahead, using affirmations and visualization, and being focused, open-minded, patient, self disciplined, motivated, ambitious and positive increase your chances of success.
