Do You Read the Newspaper While Traveling by Train or Bus?

Newspapers

By Remez Sasson

A few days ago, I traveled by train out of town in the morning. The train was very crowded. All the seats were taken, and a lot of passengers, including me, were standing.

When I looked around, I noticed a strange sight. Almost everyone on the train was reading a newspaper, the passengers who were sitting, as well as the passengers who were standing. Everyone was engrossed in reading the newspaper, nobody looking around, or through the windows,

It seemed as if all the people were unconnected to the surrounding world. It looked as if everyone was living in another world, unaware of what was happening around them.

Let’s discuss what was actually happening.

The people on the train were reading a newspaper. Many news items and articles in the newspapers are negative news. Not that there aren’t good things happening on the planet, but since negative news are sensational and awaken emotions, they sell better. Therefore, you find a lot of news about disasters and problems in the newspapers.

The 1 Question that Kills Inaction

Icy Slope

By Robert D. Smith

Imagine you’re on a solo backpacking expedition in the arctic! You’re hiking uphill in the subzero whipping wind, with a 50-pound pack of survival supplies on your back. The route is inclining steeper and STEEPER, and through the blur of snowy wind you can see the outlines of giant snowdrifts forming in your path. The elements seem to be against you. You FEEL frozen in place, as if you cannot take another step!

Have you ever felt like this… completely overwhelmed by life’s circumstances?

Sometimes life can feel like a treacherous backpacking expedition. Even a mounting to-do list can snowball into an avalanche in your mind and leave you feeling powerless-IF you let it.

I know I have been in that moment before. The deadlines, to-do lists, and various pieces of life have piled up. I have found myself sitting down and thinking, What do I do next? What is next, what is next?

Creating Positive changes in Your Life with Energy Psychology

By Natalie Lewis

Energy PsychologyWe all want to change things in our lives. I have not met anyone who does not have this desire.

We are all looking for something whether that be a better job, a bigger home, a newer car, the right partner, better or new friends, more money, resolving emotional difficulties, moving forward with our lives in a positive way, overcoming upset, dealing with health problems… the list goes on!

The great thing about where we are in our development as a species is that we are starting to realise that if we have problems and things that we want to change in our lives, we have to fix what is stopping us from being able to create it in the first place.

One of the great phrases that is currently used is “your outer world is a reflection of your inner world”. So in other words, whatever you don’t like “out there” can all be effectively changed by healing the negativity that is within you.

This Year… Make Your Life Better… Every Day!

By Ramunsyah Utama

Better Life

Most people are disappointed for what they have achieved in life within a year. Actually, you can start changing your life for the better this year! It is not really difficult to make and begin the changing. What you just need is to have a plan, execute it, and keep reviewing it to ensure you are on track to achieve your goals.

Here are 7 tips that should help to improve your life:

1. Start at home by sorting out what you want, and don’t want, in your closet, kitchen, refrigerator, garage and garden

Tidy your home! Go to your closet. Take out the old clothes that you never wear in years. Keep what you really want and need to wear in this year or so, and give the rest to charity.

Then go to your living room, windows and kitchen. Start cleaning the floor, vacuum the carpet, clean the window glass or mirror with using glass cleaner. Wash the dishes, mugs and clean your stove, oven and microwave.

Finally, take out all the garbage in the trash can. Do all these a little every day, rather than once a month. Afterward, you will have a much nicer home with clean and much more space every day. Plus you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping the needy.

There is nothing more agonising, when you have problems from work, your relationship or health affecting your mind. However there are several simple techniques that can learn which can be used to free yourself from the burden of worry and help you to feel relaxed, even when something is bothering you.

1. Avoid Anticipating Negative Outcomes
Worry is created by the feeling that you have no control of a situation which you believed will lead to a negative consequence. If you pay close attention to your thoughts, you’ll discover that most of your worry comes from anticipated negative outcomes about the future or the past. You are spending your time imagining a perceived reality about past events that may or may not come true which only leads to anxiety.
The answer to this is to learn how to live in the present whereby you learn to keep your mind focused in the moment, rather than the past or future. This will greatly free up your mental resources and allow you to feel a deeper peace in your life.
