Problems with Sending and Receiving Email Messages

Email MessagesBy Remez Sasson

Do you have problems with sending and receiving your email messages?

Every now and then, important email messages don’t arrive to their destination, or they go to the email junk folder of the addressee.

This problem is even worse for a business that uses email. What do you think, as a buyer, if you don’t receive an answer to a question, or worst, if you do not receive a download link for a book or software you ordered, or assistance with the download?

There is another problem, and this is when people make a typo error in their email address, use an email address that has been closed, or an email account that its email inbox folder on the server is completely full.

If it is a business having email problems, the visitor or buyer might get angry or be unhappy, and could request a refund. He or she might also complain. The business or company wants to give a good service, but they have a problem they need to solve.

History and Origin of Black Friday

Black Friday is the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States, and is the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. On this day many U.S. retailers open very early, and offer promotional sales to start the shopping season.

History and Origin
The term Black Friday originated in Philadelphia, where it originally was used to describe the heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic, which would occur on the day after Thanksgiving.

Use of the term began in Philadelphia, and then spread to other cities around 1975.

The earliest known reference to “Black Friday” to refer to the day after Thanksgiving was made in a 1966 publication in Philadelphia:

“Black Friday is the name which the Philadelphia Police Department has given to the Friday following Thanksgiving Day. “Black Friday” officially opens the Christmas shopping season in center city, and it usually brings massive traffic jams and over-crowded sidewalks.”

Later, an alternative explanation was offered. The origin of the name, “Black Friday” historically, comes from the retailer’s shift to profitability during the holiday season. Back in the day when accounting records were kept by hand, red ink indicated financial loss while black ink indicated profit. This led to coining the fiscal terms of being “in the red,” (losing money) or “in the black” (making profits).

During black Friday, one can see shoppers lined up for hours before stores open. Once inside the stores, shoppers often rush and grab goods.

The Social Network – The Movie About Facebook

By Remez Sasson

Yesterday, I went to the cinema with my wife and kids to watch the movie The Social Network. It is a story about the creation of the social networking website Facebook, about the founders of Facebook, and about the lawsuits against its founder Mark Zuckerberg.

One night in 2003, Harvard student and computer programming Mark Zuckerberg, played by Jesse Eisenberg, begins working on a new idea. Between blogging and programming, he starts something soon to become known as Facebook. Starting with no money, except some small amounts invested by his friend Eduardo Saverin, played by Andrew Garfield, he created a website that had members only in Harvard university, but soon included other universities, and then the whole world.

After six years and 500 million friends on Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire in history, but his success has also brought him personal and legal complications.

The Social Network is about 120 minutes long, and among the actors we also see Justin Timberlake, playing the role of Sean Parker.

I liked watching the movie, and I would recommend it to my friends.

The film, The Social Network, proves that an idea, backed by motivation and ambition, can turn into success.

On the way to success it is important to use tact, diplomacy and common sense, keep promises, and not make promises you cannot keep. Such behavior will keep you away from trouble, bad relations and lawsuits.

Here is a trailer from the film The Social Network:
