A Time for Change – Making Changes to the Website

It is time for change. Actually, every day is a great day for change, and by change, I mean improvement.

No, this article is not about personal change and improvement, but about changes, and what I think are improvements in your experience of this website.

As you can see, this website is made of a traditional website and a blog. In the last few days, I have made a few changes, which I hope you like, and which I believe will make it easier to read the articles.

Revising and Rewriting Articles

By Remez Sasson

Every now and then, I take one of my older articles, read it, and work to improve it, and to make corrections or changes where necessary. I believe that when one writes regularly, in time, the language and style improve, and therefore, it is a good idea to revise, and sometimes, even rewrite the whole article.

It is not only a matter of revising, correcting, re-proofreading, correcting typos, etc., but also adding new content, new viewpoints, or just making the idea of the article clearer. This means that it would be a good idea for you to read again the articles, because you might find them a little different, from the previous time you read them.

I recommend for everyone who owns a website or a blog to read older posts, correct and revise them. It is not only the newest articles that matter; all the articles matter. It’s true, there are websites that write about current topics, such as the news, about new gadgets and about new software, where the newest articles are more important, and sometimes the older articles might become obsolete.

Running a Website and a Blog, Side by Side

By Remez Sasson

You might have wondered, why I run both a website and a blog, instead of just one of them. It is also possible that you haven’t noticed this fact, which means that the website and the blog are very well integrated.

When I began creating SuccessConsciousness, back in 2001, I started with a website. At that time, blogs were not so popular as they are now. I started blogging a few years later, because blogs became popular, and also because many websites started blogging.

In time, WordPress, the platform used for most blogs, became popular, and more and more people started blogging. WordPress made building a website an easy and simple affair, much easier than building and maintaining an ordinary website.

At first, blogs were more of a personal journal, but in time, due to the simplicity of using them, people began using the blog software, as a platform for building websites, even commercial websites.

Do You Use the Facebook and Twitter Buttons?

By Remez Sasson

When I redesigned my website, a few months ago, I have added a Facebook and Twitter buttons to each post and article. There are two kind buttons, those that take you to my Facebook or Twitter pages, and buttons that show the number of likes and tweets, and which take you to your account on Facebook or Twitter.

As you can see, the number of likes and tweets is constantly increasing, which means that the readers find the posts and articles useful. The more people use the buttons, the more people come to know about this website and can benefit from it.

One of the most popular articles at the website, “The Power of Positive Thinking” at www.successconsciousness.com/index_000009.htm has already received 3900 likes.
