Builders can see the end results before they even start. They drew a plan, but before they drew a plan, they saw it in their mind's eyes what it looks like and then transcribed it on paper. Before Michelangelo chipped away the block of marbles, he already saw the sculpture in his mind's eyes. Then he slowly proceeded to sculpture the rock the way he saw it.
