Some time ago I received an email, in which someone asked me whether it is possible to visualize world peace.
It would be a great thing to visualize world peace. Any positive thought projected into the atmosphere of the planet is beneficial. This energy is not wasted and has its affect on the world, but as long as most of the population does not think on world peace or visualize it, and does not desire it strongly enough, one person’s thoughts are not strong enough to affect the entire world. Just think how much positive thought power can one person generate, compared to the total negative thinking of the entire planet! On the other hand, if a large group of people thinks and concentrates on world peace, the total power generated by them is stronger, than the power generated by one individual.
You have to take into account the fact that opposing thoughts can weaken or even neutralize other thoughts. The total strength of any power is dependent on the power generated, less any other power that opposes it. If one person visualizes world peace for half an hour a day, and billions of other people think the opposite or just don’t believe that peace is possible, the power generated would be quite small and not very effective.
It would be wiser and more effective, if you first create peace in your own life, because when you have peace, your peace affects the world and people around you. If you attain inner peace through such methods as positive thinking, visualization, concentration, meditation and a few other techniques, you will be in a better position to bring peace to the world, even if it means only the world around you, your family, friends, neighbors and colleagues.
By learning to calm down your restless and anxious thinking and impose peace on your mind, you will be less affected by anxieties, worries and negative thinking, and you attain real inner peace, independent or external circumstances. This kind of peace can have a strong affect on your environment and on anyone who comes in contact with you.
Visualization is a great tool. Visualize world peace, this energy is never wasted, but you also need to work on other levels too, in order to secure real and more lasting results. To bring peace into the world, you first need to bring it into your own life. How can you can produce peace, if you don’t live in peace, don’t know what it is, and if you are easily irritated, get angry quickly or have fears and worries? You first need to taste it your self and have it in your world, before being able to affect the world.

Remez, you literally have saved my life with your website. I was so desperate, lost and depressed. One day I decided to google positive thinking and came upon your website. This was last year. Since then, I have subscribed to your newsletter and have printed out all of you articles, my favorite is Being the Boss of Your Mind. Please, please never stop what you are doing. In this article, I found some very enlightening things, especially about having peace in your own life before you can have it in the world. Thank you Remez. You are great.
The mind can be trained to visualize, but this requires time and effort, like everything in else life. Just because visualization is not something tangible, does not mean that it can be developed just by wishing for it.
There are people who find it difficult to visualize, and there are people for whom visualization is easy and comes naturally, without training.
1) You can still get results, even if your visualization is not clear.
2) If you keep visualizing, this ability would improve.
3) Exercise your imagination by visualizing small objects, such an apple, a teaspoon, a match, etc. Look at the object for a few moments, close your eyes, and for a few minutes visualize it to the best of your ability. If the image disappears, open your eyes, look at the object for a few seconds, and then close your eyes and visualize the object again.
Intriguing post. Visualization of peace have been blocked by its ambiguity and by people’s motives on other things such as money. There are surely some ways to make it objective by taking surveys. Data directly from people have valid quality to some extent. I’ve done a little bit of research on GNH (Gross National Happiness) which was coined by the king of Bhutan. Stats on the country showed more than 90% of the population answered ‘Yes’ to the question asking if they are happy or not. This result can be ignored by doubting its validity, but if this type of survey is done for all people on the earth? There must be numerous different types of definitions and understandings of Peace and Happiness, but I believe the number would tell something.
