Anticipation and the Law of Attraction

By Remez Sasson

When you have a certain desire or goal, do you anticipate it to be fulfilled, or do you let doubts fill your mind?

Anticipation is important when working with the law of attraction, because anticipation works like a magnet, attracting your desire or goal toward you.

What is anticipation?

It is more than hope. It is the certainty and faith that what you desire is going to happen right now, and feeling the pleasure the fulfillment of your desire is going to give you. It is a state of mind of expectancy, of expecting your goal to be accomplished, and seeing no other option than success.

How did you feel during the day, when you had a date in the evening or a party?

How did you feel during the the week before you went on a vacation? You most probably were in a mood of expectancy and anticipation. You already felt the fun you were going to enjoy.

While visualizing your goal, try to be in the same mood of anticipation and expectancy. This will make your desire more magnetic, and will trigger the law of attraction into action.

Anticipation of something to happen, triggers your subconscious mind to attract it into your life.

  1. Have you ever heard the phrase “The higher your expectations, the greater your disappointment”? Someone “imbedded” that in my mind right out of college, almost 15 years ago. And he was/is an extremely positive person regarding life circumstances. I have found there is a fine line between a positive attitude, being realistic and high expectations that can lead to disappointment.
So my question is How do you go into a situation with optimism and remain optimistic when the circumstances don’t quite turn out as you hoped?

Thanks for your feedback. I have enjoyed your blog and found it by chance on the net while researching for an upcoming job interview presentation.

  2. In order to achieve success in any area of life you need ambition and desire, and when you have ambition and desire, it is only natural to have expectations too. If there is fear of disappointment, you would either do nothing about your ambitions, or subconsciously spoil your chances of success, and then justify the saying that “The higher your expectations, the greater your disappointment”.

Positive thinking is not an attitude of ignoring problems and obstacles, pretending they do not exist, and living in an imaginary world. Acknowledge your circumstances and situation, but open your mind to better circumstances and situations and do your best to improve them. Positive thinking to be useful requires positive action too.

Not everything in life turns as one wants and expects, but that doesn’t mean one should not try. So what if there is failure? You learn from it and go on.

In order to avoid disappointments and remain positive, it is important to develop some degree of mental and emotional detachment. With this attitude you won’t feel bad if you fail, but stay calm and unaffected, even in difficult, frustrating and disappointing situations. Mental and emotional detachment leads to inner peace and inner happiness, and with such an attitude, negative thoughts cannot enter your mind. I have written several articles on detachment, which you can find at this website, as well as a complete chapter dedicated to this subject, with guidance and instructions, in one of my books.

  3. I somewhat agree with what Remez is saying here. But I’d like to add that the first rule is FEELING, which is the secret. The second aspect is the letting go of all expectations. While you are in the midst of feeling that which you desire, then in that very moment, you don’t need to expect any results because you are already in THAT moment. When you feel it in your bones, you fill the CUP… when you LET GO, you actually create a drain in the CUP … so while you fill the CUP, the water doesn’t spill, but the CUP remains there to allow constant flow of energy in and out of the CUP. It’s FEELING and LETTING GO.
