Worries Are Like Clouds that Pass Through the Sky

Do you worry sometimes? Well, this is a silly question, since everybody worries sometimes, some more, some less.

What are worries? They are just thoughts that pass through the mind. They are not facts. They are not the truth. They have no reality. They are like a mental game of asking, “What if…”, and nothing more.

Look at the clouds that pass through the sky. They are made of vapor, and they change form as they move through the sky. They hide part of the sky or all the sky, and sometimes they hide the sun. However, this is only temporary. Sooner or later they move on, allowing the sun to send its rays down again.

Worries, which are actually thoughts, are like the clouds. They pass through the mind, hide reason, common sense and our aims and goals, and if you don’t hold to them, they go away, making place for other worries.

Smart Goal Setting

Setting goalsThere are many writers, who write about the importance of setting goals. This raises the question, what if you don’t want anything in particular, and you are fully satisfied with your life as it is?

Most people don’t have big goals. They want to have enough money for their basic needs and a little more. That’s okay.

Some people want to accomplish big things, and others don’t, and that’s ok.

The truth is that our life is always goal oriented, even if we think that we have no goals.

Even if there is nothing you want, and you are satisfied with your life as it is, unconsciously, or unconsciously you are pursuing goals. Everybody has such days.

Don’t feel too bad when you go through such day. It’s quite possible that you are tired, and you are exhausting yourself, and not giving yourself enough rest.

Your body and your subconscious mind revolt against you, because they need rest, which you are depriving of them, and therefore, make you feel down and listless. In this way they force you to ease down.

You should listen to your body, to your mind, and to your intuition, and cooperate with them. Don’t wait until they force you to stop, by making you feel lazy, drained, and exhausted. It is much better to give yourself periodic rest before this happens, instead of being forced to do so. Take a day or two off, and just rest, go to walk on the beach, travel somewhere, read a good book, and try to find out what you can do to feel happier.

Do You Read the Newspaper While Traveling by Train or Bus?

A few days ago, I traveled by train out of town in the morning. The train was very crowded. All the seats were taken, and a lot of passengers, including me, were standing.

When I looked around, I noticed a strange sight. Almost everyone on the train was reading a newspaper, the passengers who were sitting, as well as the passengers who were standing. Everyone was engrossed in reading the newspaper, nobody looking around, or through the windows,

It seemed as if all the people were unconnected to the surrounding world. It looked as if everyone was living in another world, unaware of what was happening around them.

Let’s discuss what was actually happening.

The people on the train were reading a newspaper. Many news items and articles in the newspapers are negative news. Not that there aren’t good things happening on the planet, but since negative news are sensational and awaken emotions, they sell better. Therefore, you find a lot of news about disasters and problems in the newspapers.
