Living in a Noisy Environment

Inner PeaceSomeone has emailed me the following question:

“I understand it is important to own your mind, but what if you live next door to really noisy people who drive you crazy and make you lose you sleep?”

“I cannot help thinking that the people who write these books have big detached houses so they already have a peaceful environment at least.”

It is not always possible to be in control of your environment, and therefore, it is not always possible to live in a peaceful environment. However, you can teach yourself to ignore noise and distractions. This is possible, and I know this from personal experience.

On the plus side, learning to calm down your mind in an environment that is not quiet, and striving to ignore the noise and distractions, helps you develop your inner strength. In this process, you gain inner power, will power, self discipline and a sense of satisfaction.

The Importance of a Definite Goal

One of the primary obstacles to success is the lack of a definite aim – knowing what you want to achieve or attain. The lack of a definite aim results in either doing nothing, or starting one thing and then, quitting and starting something else. This kind of behavior doesn’t lead to success. You can … Continue Reading…

Can Thoughts About Riches Make You Rich?

Do you believe that thinking about riches and wealth can make you rich and wealthy? Do you believe that a few affirmations and a few minutes of visualization would attract a lot of money into your bank account?

You certainly have come across programs promising wealth and riches in a short time, with hardly any effort on your part. How real are these programs and promises?

You can make changes in your life and you can attract money with the power of your thoughts and with visualization, but this does not mean that you can achieve everything. Theoretically you can, but practically there are limitations. It is not that the power of thoughts is limited. It is we who impose limitations on our desires and achievements, through our beliefs and through our attitude.

The question is, are you really willing to become a multimillionaire?

  • Are you equipped with all necessary trait characters and abilities?
  • Is there something specific you want to excel in?
  • Are you willing to devote your time and energy to business?
  • Can you run a company?
  • Do you really want to run a company, with all the responsibilities this entails?

Many of you would probably say no, become uncomfortable with these questions or just ignore them. It is one thing to desire to be rich or daydream about it, and another thing to do really work toward achieving wealth and riches. You can be rich if you follow certain mental laws and actions, but you should be willing to invest time and effort where necessary, spend money to gain the necessary information, education or help, and be willing to follow whatever it takes to accomplish your goal. But how many people would be really willing to do so?

Do You Need All Your Thoughts?

– Are you aware of the thoughts that pass through your mind?

– Do you remember what you thought a few minutes ago?

– Do you know how many thoughts pass through your mind in 24 hours?

– Do all your thoughts originate in your mind? Are they your own thoughts or other people’s thoughts that you think are your own thoughts?

Thinking is very useful in every area of life, but people go too far with it. It has turned into some sort of slavery. Instead of thinking about what you want, when you want, you think all the time, every hour of the day. Every word you hear, everything you see brings thoughts to your mind. The mind is always busy, most of the time thinking meaningless thoughts as a reaction to external stimulus.

People have lost the ability to stop thinking when they don’t need to. Thoughts come and go whenever they want, distracting the attention, spoiling concentration, and keeping the mind in a state of endless mental activity. It is like a machine that is never switched off.

Many of these thoughts are negative, causing anxiety and worries, wasting one’s time and energy.

Instead of using thoughts to help in your affairs, you are being used by thoughts. They take your time and they take your energy, without giving you anything in return. They constantly produce noise in your mind, preventing you from experiencing real inner peace.

Are you able to stop thinking negative thoughts? Are you able to stop all those thoughts that keep moving your attention from one thing to another? Do you keep worrying, and do you expect the worst? Does your mind keep busy with what someone said about you, and do you keep thinking how life is bad for you, because someone at work got promoted, and you were not?

When Affirmations Work and When They Don’t

If you repeat an affirmation, with which you are not in agreement with, there is often a subconscious resistance, which defeats the affirmation. When there is low self-esteem, or when in difficult situations, the mind thinks on the current situation, and finds it difficult, or almost impossible to think of a different, positive situation. At … Continue Reading…
