Most people can’t deal with knowing someone doesn’t like them. They feel defensive, sad, and sometimes, angry. They don’t understand why that person doesn’t like them, and they will hold on to that feeling for a long time.
Why do people feel the need to hold on to such negative emotions?
It’s because they are not happy with themselves, and they are being called out on it.
When someone doesn’t like you, it’s natural to start thinking of all the reasons why they must not like you.
If you’re the type of person to attack yourself, you’ll immediately look at yourself to criticize everything you don’t like about yourself, no matter if it’s not what that person doesn’t like about you.
If you’re the type of person that likes to point fingers, you may start to find every single thing wrong with the other person. You might also think of all the ways you are better than that person that doesn’t like you. You just can’t feel less than the person that doesn’t like you, because then that person is right.
It’s counterproductive though, and it just makes you feel like crud. Deep down inside you are hurt, and you feel attacked.
How to Deal with the Loss of that Loving Feeling
The truth of the matter is that sometimes in life you’ll meet people that don’t like you. It’s not your problem, unless you make it your problem.
See, it’s all about choosing what you want to spend time dealing with, and what you don’t want to spend time dealing with in your life. You can choose to dwell on the fact this person doesn’t like you, or you can shrug your shoulders, and move on.
You haven’t done anything to this person to make him or her dislike you, so you can’t do anything to do this person to make him or her like you. It’s just the way it is, and you might as well spend your energy on people who deserve it.
The next time you meet someone who doesn’t quite like you, be pleasant, and then surround yourself with people who do like you. If there isn’t anyone around you that likes you, walk into a bathroom, and look into the mirror.
You like you. This is the most important part of all of this. When you like yourself, and you are able to feel comfortable within your own body, you will never be alone. You won’t feel lonely when no one around you seem like they don’t like you. You’ll feel confident and happy.
And, you know what?
These traits are what people love the most about others. They want to be more confident and happy in life, so when they meet someone who is that way they are naturally drawn to them.
So, stop dwelling on the people who don’t like you, surround yourself with people who love you, and when you just don’t have anyone around, love yourself. You are a good person, and as long as you stay that way, you’ll have plenty of people who will care and love you forever.
