You must have asked yourself many times, how to survive when there are financial problems, and how to get your head above water, and keep it there.

Positive thinking and visualization are a good solution, but the problem is that when you are in financial problems, and when there is a shortage of money, it is not so easy to think positively. Worries keep popping up, especially when you see the bills in front of you.

The solution is of course to be alert, and constantly, day after day, replace your worries and negative thinking with positive thinking.

Better still, to teach yourself positive thinking during the goods times, when it is easier to think positively, and much better it is, to learn and train yourself from an early age, but this is not always practical or possible.

How to get your head above water and keep it there?

“It feels like my life has been on a downward spiral. I struggle to keep my head above water financially, and just as things seem to get back in line something else happens.

I realize that the most obvious answer is to stop worrying… but it’s not that easy when you see the bills in front of you, and you have no idea how to cover them.”

People keep asking me about affirmations, and how to use them. Some of the questions are about affirmations for money. Here is a typical question: “I want to affirm for money. Can I use the affirmation, ‘I am making 100,000.- dollars every month’?

You can use any affirmation you want, but you have to believe that what you are affirming can happen, and be willing to do whatever it requires to make it come true.

To make your affirmation work you need to be practical, and use your common sense. You should also be willing to work and follow ideas and opportunities, and not just remain passive and wait for the money to come.

Affirmations, when repeated correctly, motivate, energize, and open your mind and eyes to see opportunities that otherwise you wouldn’t have seen. It is not enough just to affirm. You also need to take action, and take advantage of the opportunities that come your way.

If you choose to repeat the above mentioned affirmation, ask yourself whether you are feeling comfortable with this amount of money. Think whether you can handle it. Think whether you are willing to make changes in your life, which you might be required to do to make the affirmation come true.

Affirmations can help you focus your mind on money, motivate and inspire you to do something about having more money, and also become more aware of opportunities to make money.

The problem is that most people want money, but they:

• Don’t feel they deserve money.
• Don’t really believe they can make more money.
• Are afraid to take the necessary steps to make more money.
• Have low self-esteem.
• Think negative thoughts that don’t let money come in.
• Focus on their current financial condition, instead of focusing on how they want their financial condition to be.

For affirmations to work you need to affirm with faith and belief, not just repeating words and waiting for miracles.

Feel the truth of the affirmation when repeating it. Let it inspire and motivate you. Keep an open mind and take advantage of opportunities to make the affirmation come true.

Affirmations are a great tool, but you need to back them up with positive action, persistence, doing things, and not being afraid of effort.

Money. Earn $100 and spend $101 and you are in trouble. Earn $100 and spend $99 and you are not in trouble.

Let me tell you something. Most of the population of the world is worried about one thing – money. More correctly, they are worried about LACK of money.

Here is a simple formula:

Earn $100 and spend $101 and you are in trouble.

Earn $100 and spend $99 and you are not in trouble.

That $2 makes a world of difference.

The problem with most people is that they do not earn enough money to fund their lifestyle. That is a lifestyle fuelled by slick marketing campaigns that implore you to have now and pay later. The trouble comes when the credit period runs out and the mounting debt must be paid.

So many people waste money on take-away food, alcohol, cigarettes, snazzy-looking motor vehicles, the latest cell phones, (dare I say it? yes I will) drugs and sex. These are all the things that will make you poor and keep you poor. Indulging in any of these will almost certainly confine you to a life of lack. This is the miserable life of the poor money manager.

The wise money managers invest. They invest in property, property trusts, blue chip shares, quality assets, businesses and desirable collectable items. They always have money because their assets create money for them.

In summary, if you are forever exchanging your time for money you will never be wealthy. If you leverage your time and allow assets to create money you will become wealthy. Change your mindset and you will change your outcomes.
