Do you know how many thoughts your mind thinks each hour of the day?

Experts estimate that the mind thinks between 60,000 – 80,000 thoughts a day. That’s an average of 2500 – 3,300 thoughts per hour. That’s incredible.

Other experts estimate a smaller number, of 50,000 thoughts per day, which means about 2100 thoughts per hour. This too, is a great number of thoughts.

If you were able sell each thought, you would be rich in no time.

Did you notice what kind of thoughts do you think?
If you pay attention to these thoughts, you would be amazed to discover that most of them are useless, unimportant thoughts that pass through the mind with a huge speed. These are words you repeat in your mind, comments the mind makes, repeating what you heard said, questions, answers and a lot of senseless wandering thoughts that you might not even be aware of.

You might not believe that you think these huge quantities of thoughts, but if you have experience with meditation, you would have proof of the great number of thoughts passing through your mind. It’s just like being a very busy train station or airport terminal, where a great number of people come and go.

Don’t Let the Past Shape Your Future

By Remez Sasson

Most of the events of your life have been shaped by your thoughts, attitude and expectations. If your life doesn’t change and doesn’t improve, it means that you are not changing your thoughts, attitude and expectations. It is like playing the same movie in your mind, over and again, and enacting it in your real life, time and again.

There is no reason to cling to thoughts, beliefs, attitude and expectations. You can change them if you really want. If you change them, you will start seeing life in a different way, acting in a different way, and consequently, changing the events and situations in your life.

Even if circumstances do not change, or cannot be changed, your attitude would be different, and therefore, the impact of circumstances on you would be different, milder, or even non-existent.

If your thoughts have always been negative, and you keep repeating them, how do you expect to improve your life?

Don’t let the past shape your future.

Your past thoughts created your present, but there is no need to repeat these thoughts. You can think other thoughts. You can think of what you want, irrespective of your current situation.

If you start thinking about success, instead of thinking about failure, and keep this way of thinking, in time, these thoughts would affect your life. What you think in the present, would change your future.

By Gary Simpson

Not only do we become what we think about, we do what we think about. Whether your thoughts are positive or negative your mind will act on them. If we are directed by our dominating thoughts, why not implant our minds with things that will benefit us?
Learn how you can do this…

Self belief is a wonderful thing.

I know from my own life experiences that whenever I have been filled with dread or doubt I am unable to perform at a satisfactory level. Just the other day I was using a claw hammer and a lever to dismantle a packing crate. At the time I was making quite a noise hammering away when my wife came down to the workshop to see what I was doing.

Jokingly, I quipped: “I haven’t hit my fingers with the hammer yet!” Guess what I did within minutes of uttering those words? Yep. Bang. Yeeowch! Actually, I didn’t say that. It was something more colorful.

You see, in retrospect, what I did was plant the seed in my mind that I was going to hit my fingers with the hammer. My mind set about fulfilling the thought.

Are You Awake?

By Remez Sasson

Are you awake? I don’t mean awake in the usual sense of not sleeping. I am asking if you are really awake.

What does being awake mean?

Are you aware of opportunities that knock on your door?

Are you aware of how the people around you feel? Are you tactful enough in your relations with them?

Are you attentive when conversing people? Are you a good listener, or are you centered within your ego, not listening to the person talking to you?

Are you aware of your habits, and work on overcoming the negative ones and developing positive habits, instead?

Are you aware of the negative or useless thoughts that pass through your mind?

Are you aware of the sense of peace and happiness that is covered and hidden by your thoughts feelings and desires?
