Do you believe that thinking about riches and wealth can make you rich and wealthy? Do you believe that a few affirmations and a few minutes of visualization would attract a lot of money into your bank account?

You certainly have come across programs promising wealth and riches in a short time, with hardly any effort on your part. How real are these programs and promises?

You can make changes in your life and you can attract money with the power of your thoughts and with visualization, but this does not mean that you can achieve everything. Theoretically you can, but practically there are limitations. It is not that the power of thoughts is limited. It is we who impose limitations on our desires and achievements, through our beliefs and through our attitude.

The question is, are you really willing to become a multimillionaire?

Are you equipped with all necessary trait characters and abilities?

Is there something specific you want to excel in?

Are you willing to devote your time and energy to business?

Can you run a company?

Do you really want to run a company, with all the responsibilities this entails?

Many of you would probably say no, become uncomfortable with these questions or just ignore them. It is one thing to desire to be rich or daydream about it, and another thing to do really work toward achieving wealth and riches. You can be rich if you follow certain mental laws and actions, but you should be willing to invest time and effort where necessary, spend money to gain the necessary information, education or help, and be willing to follow whatever it takes to accomplish your goal. But how many people would be really willing to do so?

It is so sweet to desire wealth and believe that you can get plenty of it with just a few minutes of visualization. Do you know anyone who became rich instantly and without doing anything? Yes, people who inherited large sums of money or people, or people who won the lottery. Well, this can happen, but to how many people?

If you don’t have a rich relative, then how would you be rich, by winning the lottery? Well, that’s a possibility, but if you expect the win the lottery you are limiting your opportunities and chances to be rich.

Will money fall on you from the sky? If you visualize money, and not for just a few moments once and then, you will get it, but it will probably appear in a most natural way, through a new job, promotion, a new idea, success in business etc.

Most people live simple lives, and would just like to improve their life, one step at a time. Few would be able to handle vast riches coming to them overnight. Dream about vast riches if you wish, but be prepared to work for it, mentally first, through visualization and affirmations, and then in real life too. Visualizing your goal would attract opportunities and open doors, but you will have to take advantage of these opportunities.

The power of thoughts, creative visualization and the law of attraction can change your life, but they require that you practice and follow them assiduously. You also need to possess a strong desire to achieve your goal, be practical and alert to recognize the right opportunity or idea, and be willing to act and devote the necessary time and energy take advantage of opportunities and ideas.

When a door opens you need to be able to recognize it, have to courage to enter inside, and be willing to follow where it leads.

What is a mental image? It is mental picture, scene or event that you see in your mind. You construct mental images in your mind all the time, albeit unconsciously. The mental images that you often visualize affect your life, whether you are aware of this or not. I am not talking mental images that you visualize once or twice, but about the mental images that you often repeat in your mind.

Mental images have the power to change your life. The subconscious mind accepts these images as reality, and gradually you start to believe what you imagine, act accordingly, and unconsciously work toward making them a reality in your life. This is the secret of the law of attraction creative visualization.

Mental images, if repeated often can make great changes in your life. If you visualize negative situations, difficulties and problem, and continue doing so, your moods will gradually become negative, you will alienate people, you will close your eyes to opportunities, and your self-esteem will go down. How can you achieve success if you are so negative?

On the other hand, successful people attract success, because they constantly imagine and expect success.

Mental images are like a movie or still pictures that you see in your mind. If you watch them again and again your subconscious mind will ultimately accept them as you reality. They will affect your thinking, behavior and world.

Using The Power of Mental Images

The power of mental images can change your life if you use it consciously, and if learn to choose your mental images and reject those that are not good for you. You can decide what mental scenes you see in your mind. You can decide what to let seep into your subconscious mind.

Always be aware of your thoughts. When you catch yourself visualizing negative events, problems or difficulties, or when you tell yourself that you are helpless and weak, stop that and change the mental movie and the words you repeat in your mind. It is like ejecting a DVD from your DVD player and inserting a better and more interesting one.

Visualize what you really and truly desire, and what will make you happy and satisfied. Your mind will probably interfere with fears, worries and disbelief. Your job is to educate your mind and change its habits, and you can do so if you realize the power of mental images and use it correctly.

Being aware of your thoughts, replacing negative thoughts with positive thoughts, and visualizing positive mental images again and again, will eventually change the habits of your mind and your thinking. This will lead to understanding and realizing the power of mental images.

You can learn all about the power of mental images, and how to use them to change your life, by readng the book ‘Visualize and Achieve’. This book teaches everything about achieving success through mental images – visualization. This book also includes instructions and exercises for developing the power of visualization, as well as and many examples of using visualization for attracting success, objects, events and people into your life.

People often start enthusiastically repeating affirmations, visualizing and using various inner growth techniques. They sometimes get fast, though minor results, and this makes them feel happy and elated, but after a while, nothing seems to work anymore. This causes frustration and bewilderment, and makes people wonder what they are doing wrong. Sometimes this leads them to abandon the techniques they have been using.

This is quite a common occurrence, and you might have faced this situation yourself. After reading a book or attending a workshop on personal development, the law of attraction or any other subject related to personal development, you become inspired and motivated. You suddenly discover that you can make changes in your life.

You start practicing what you have learned, and you soon obtain visible results. You feel elated and satisfied that you are making progress, but then, all of a sudden, nothing seems to work anymore. You affirm and visualize or follow other techniques, but nothing happens. This is quite frustrating.

Some people abandon their hopes and expectations, feeling they are facing a wall. Others read book after book or participate in endless workshops, believing that this will help them understand better the inner laws. This sometimes turns into an obsession of reading one book after another, and practically doing nothing.

Why does this happen? Why the techniques work at first and then stop bring results?

This is all very simple:

1) When you first come to know about techniques that can change and improve your life, you become enthusiastic and motivated. It suddenly dawns on you that you can improve your life. You act with emotion, desire, motivation and happiness, and this brings fast results.

2) It is not always possible to stay feeling “high”, and even if you get results, motivation, elation and emotions start to wane, and without them nothing seem to happen. You stop directing emotional energy into your desires.

3) Some minor goals, such getting a check for $100, finding a parking space, do not require so much dedication, persistence and skills, such as owning a business of your own or making big money,

4) After making some minor changes in your life and finding that the techniques work, you desire to do something bigger, but now you face a problem:

A) You discover that there is nothing in particular that you want to achieve.

B) You don’t possess enough desire force to achieve big goals.

C) You don’t know what you want to achieve.

D) You lack patience, because bigger goals require more time to achieve, and sometimes also require certain skills and knowledge, which you need to acquire.

E) Too big goals require a certain character and mental and emotional makeup that you may not possess.

F) Not everyone desires to make big changes in his life. Many actually prefer the life they know and don’t want to make changes.

G) Achieving success requires patience, self-discipline and persistence, and not everyone possesses these qualities.

H) Success with affirmations, visualization and the law of attraction is dependent on several factors, one of them being able to think big and see far beyond your current life style and circumstances, and not everyone is able or willing to do so.

The same hold true with concentration and meditation. One might notice of progress in the beginning, and then it seems that there is a standstill. The remedy is of course being persistence and not giving up. It is also important not to get tense or feel bad, if nothing seems to work, as it is all part of a natural inner growth process.

Inner growth, personal development, affirmations and visualization do work, but require dedication. It is as if you are at first shown that they do work, get some personal proof, so that you believe that they work, but then you need to work to make progress.

Some understanding, some knowledge and knowing about some techniques are not enough. People need to be kept motivated and shown what they might face on the way. They also need to be shown the difficulties and problems on the way, and be provided with the tools for overcoming them. This is one of the reasons why I have written several books that teach how to develop the inner strength, persistence and self-discipline necessary for achieving anything in life, how to use affirmations and visualization, and how to stay peaceful and calm. These books provide the necessary advice, instructions and exercises, and take the reader gradually and step-by-step toward both personal and spiritual growth and success.

Some people can visualize easily and others find it hard to do, but regular training of the imagination can change this. One can learn to visualize. Imagination can be developed like any other skill, through appropriate exercises.

Don’t worry if you can’t visualize, because even if you can’t, you can still use the law of attraction. If you know clearly what you want, and you have no doubts about it, and your desire is very strong, you can still attract success into your life, even if visualization is difficult for you. Feelings and desire play an important role in manifestation, not only visualization.

Suppose two people wish to manifest a particular event or object in their life, one just visualize, without any emotion or desire, and without really believing that he can manifest his dream. The other person does not visualize, but he focuses his mind on his desire, and believes and feels strongly that he has already manifested it. Who will eventually achieve his desire? The one who feels and believes.

Actually, the combination of visualization, feelings and desire is recommended, and that is why it is worthwhile to train the faculty of imagination. It can be developed gradually, through various exercises. One such exercise is to look at a small object, such as a spoon, match, or even a fruit for a few minutes, then close the eyes and try to see it mentally. If the mental image is blurred, open your eyes, look at the object for a few seconds, and again close your eyes and try to visualize it.

Don’t get discouraged if you don’t see immediate results. Developing the ability to visualize is not different from learning a new language, learning to drive a car or bodybuilding. Training and developing the ability to visualize takes time.

I have included a whole chapter on developing visualization and imagination in my book Visualize and Achieve, with instructions, advice, and exercises.

The success industry has turned into a huge machine, creating a growing number of books, videos, audios and workshops, all promising big and quick success, without any effort. All these products create a sense of euphoria, great expectations, and often, also frustration. The producers of many of these products make great promises, and tell you that all you need to succeed is just a little of your time. Sometimes all you have to do is just repeat a few affirmations or visualize a goal a few minutes a day, and you will soon enjoy great success and the fulfillment of your dreams.

Can this be true? Does everyone who reads the book, listens to the video or participates in the workshop become a great success? In spite of all these products and promises, how many really succeed? How many really successful people are, in relation to the entire population?

Don’t misunderstand me. I believe in the power of the mind. I have written articles and books on this subject, but I also believe in common sense and in being practical. Creative visualization and the law of attraction are useful tools that work when used correctly, and there are good and useful books and other products available. I am speaking here about the growing tendency of making great promises and the tendency to oversimplify things.

I am sure you have bought and read more than one book, audio or video about achieving success. How many have read the book, listened to the audio or watching the video they have bought, and more important, how many have followed and implemented the instructions? There is a great distance between experiencing a feeling of elation, which people often experience when they are first introduced to these subjects, to actually using the techniques, persevering and then gaining results.

In order to gain real results with creative visualization and the law of attraction you need constant motivation, will power, self-discipline and persistence. It is true, sometimes, due to certain factors one might attain quick results, but quite often one will have to act and do things, not just visualize. Highly successful people are not mere daydreamers, they visualize, they believe in their vision, but they also act in the real world, and they do things to make their dreams come true.

- Do you really believe that a few minutes a day of visualizing or affirming are going to completely transform your life?

- Can you speak a foreign language in 30 days, while studying for just a few minutes a day?

- Can you develop great muscles in two weeks, exercising just 10 minutes a day?

- Can you build a thriving and successful business in 30 days, without any knowledge about the business and without the right preparation?

- Did the successful people build their fortune by doing nothing, except of visualizing for 5 minutes a day? No, their success required work, time and effort.

Affirmations and visualization can change your life. They can create success. If what you want is something small, you might manifest it quite fast, but if it is something bigger, it might require more time. Often, visualization and affirmation require frequent repetitions, day after day. Sometimes things might manifest fast or in an unexpected manner, but more often this might involve effort, study, and working in the real world.

Opportunities will appear, but you will have to take advantage of them, and be willing to do whatever is required to make what you want come true. The thing is that not everyone is willing and ready invest time and effort in achieving success, except daydream a little. Laziness, lack of initiative and a weak desire do not create success. Not everyone is willing and ready to make the required changes or sacrifices in his/her life in order to achieve success.

Not everyone really desires great success, lots of money or becoming a businessman or businesswomen. Most people would prefer a quiet, but comfortable life. Not everyone is fit for business or desires to run or own a business.

Often, there is a subconscious resistance to become successful, and one might, without even knowing it, sabotage his/her chances. This means that one has to look often deeply inside his/her mind, to find the source of the resistance, and then keep affirming and visualizing until the subconscious mind accepts the new thoughts. Then, doors will open, and new idea and opportunities will knock at one’s door, but he/she will have to do something with these opportunities. Are you willing to make the necessary effort and devote the required time to succeed?
