It usually does not last long, because life is such that you have always other things to do, like work, cleaning the house, driving somewhere, interacting with other people, etc. you cannot stay in the feeling of pleasure for long.

2. It helps you control appetite, impatience, anger and instinctive reactions.

People are too often attached to the past, to what they are familiar with, and therefore miss opportunities that stand right in front of them. Doors may close, but there are always unlimited numbers of doors - new opportunities. The world is full of opportunities, if we could only see them. The Infinite Power is infinite, and so the possibilities are without number.

How to Overcome Disturbing and Distracting Thoughts
By Remez Sasson

Here is a question somebody asked me, which is relevant to a great number of people:

“I cannot concentrate on things, and I get some things in my mind which really come again and again while doing things, and this makes me very sad. Please help.”

What you focus on grows. If you keep focusing on worries, you only encourage those disturbing and distracting thoughts.

More at the Ezine

Sri Chinmoy Quotes on Meditation
We meditate for various reasons. Peace of mind we all badly need. Therefore, when we meditate, either consciously or unconsciously we aim at peace of mind. Meditation give us peace of mind without a tranquilliser. And unlike a tranquilliser, the peace of mind that we get from meditation does not fade away. It lasts for good in some corner of the inmost recesses of our aspiring heart.

A Basic Meditation Technique
By Chesa Keane

In this meditation technique, you will focus on your breath to develop an unconscious connection so the positive feelings of relaxation, peace and well-being will be established within you and you'll be capable of retrieving these feeling whenever you wish. Do not rush this process or hold unrealistic expectations of fast results. It takes time to train your mind to exercise basic control of your thoughts before you can direct the mind toward specific intentions.

Doing Small Things to Make Your Life Happier
By Remez Sasson

You can add more happiness and light to your life, by doing some small, simple acts everyday. Though small and simple, these acts will improve your feeling and make your day more enjoyable. Even if you are under pressure and strain, or if you have problems and difficulties, there are many little, and sometimes not so significant actions that can make you feel happy. This happiness might not be strong and deep, and often is of short duration, but it certainly can improve the way you feel.

5 Tips to Help You Meditate
By Jay Franco

Meditation has been proven to have significant benefits. Regular meditation can help you reduce stress, sleep better, and be more spiritually aware. Some people find it hard to start a regular meditation practice though because most people are running around busily all day long and don’t usually take time to sit down and relax. But if you really want to improve your health and manage your stress you need to make it a priority to start meditating regularly. These tips can help you make meditation a regular part of your life:

Quotes and Sayings About Money
Collected by Remez Sasson

Money will buy you a pretty good dog, but it won’t buy the wag of his tail.
- Henry Wheeler Shaw

Every day I get up and look through the Forbes list of the richest people in America. If I’m not there, I go to work.
- Robert Orben

Clarity of Purpose and How to Develop It
By Remez Sasson

Clarity of purpose is important for the achievement of success and for making dreams come true. Your dream or goal must be specific and clear and not not something vague. While it’s fun to dream about being rich and successful, you have to know and define what you really and truly want to get or achieve. Clarity of purpose is important for any success, for losing weight, getting a new car or travelling abroad. If you don’t know exactly what you want, how can you get it?

By Remez Sasson

Are you happy with your life?
Are you satisfied with what is going in your life?

If things go wrong, do you express angry and impatience?
If things go wrong, do you let your anger boil inside you?

Can you accept what cannot be changed, but do your best to change what can be changed?

Plans, expectations and desires don’t always turn out as expected, but this should not be a cause for unhappiness, dissatisfaction or resentment. Right thinking, planning, patience and a positive frame of mind can ensure a greater chance of success, and therefore more happiness and satisfaction.

The Medicine of Positive Thinking and Peace
By Remez Sasson

It is a well known fact that stress, anxiety, tension, worries and fears can hurt your health, not only the physical health, but also the mental and emotional health. These negative states put strain on the nerves and on the body, produce poisons in the body and in the blood stream, disturb the concentration and the attention, and sometimes produce various ailments and health problems, which require expert help, treatments or the taking of medications.

Clarifying Misunderstandings About Willpower
By Remez Sasson

I have read articles about willpower that describe it as a sort of temporary burst or spurt of desire or motivation. I have also found articles that discredit and reject it as a myth or nonsense. I disagree with these description and definitions, because willpower as I know it, is something completely different.

Quotes on Determination
By Remez Sasson

Determination is a great asset we all need to better our life. It is the tool we can use to defeat discouragement, laziness and procrastination, and is the companion of persistence, willpower and self disciple. It is the inner strength that keeps us on the track toward our goals.

By Remez Sasson

Do you, like most people feel lazy sometimes? It could be just a momentary feeling of laziness, or it could be a habitual state. You might feel lazy in relation to certain particular activities, but motivated in relation to other activities.

What is laziness? It is a state of lack of energy, lack of desire and often indifference. It is sometimes caused by external conditions, such as the weather, when it is too cold or too hot, and sometimes due to internal causes, such as lack of motivation, an inclination to procrastination or fear.

12 Tips to Overcome Laziness

By Remez Sasson

What is laziness? It is a state of idleness and inner resistance to exerting effort and acting. It is a state of passivity and of letting things stay as they are. Sometimes we enjoy being a little lazy, such as after working hard for several hours, or on a very cold or warm day, but if this state occurs too often, something has to be done about it.

Do Personal Growth Techniques Work?

By Remez Sasson

People often start enthusiastically repeating affirmations, visualizing and using various inner growth techniques. They sometimes get fast, though minor results, and this makes them feel happy and elated, but after a while, nothing seems to work anymore. This causes frustration and bewilderment, and makes people wonder what they are doing wrong. Sometimes this leads them to abandon the techniques they have been using.

This is quite a common occurrence, and you might have faced this situation yourself. After reading a book or attending a workshop on personal development, the law of attraction or any other subject related to personal development, you become inspired and motivated. You suddenly discover that you can make changes in your life.

The Law of Attraction in Action

By Kevin Eikenberry

The Law of Attraction states that we are continually attracting things into our life that are consistent with the energy we are putting into the world.

I know that statement doesn't seem very specific or tangible. It doesn't change the truth or validity of the Law.

The reason many people don't believe in this Law is that they don't completely understand it, or they mis-apply it.

The Law's Three Parts

Many people think this Law is about visualizing what they want - getting a clear mental picture of their desired future. These thoughts are a very powerful part of the law, but they aren't the whole package. You absolutely must have a clear mental picture, but it must be a picture of what you really want.

Using Compassion As A Meditation Practice

By Eklavya

Compassion is on of the most revered divine qualities of human being. It is compassion that separates us from other animals. A loving and sympathetic attitude towards every living creature on earth is one of the most important qualities a spiritual person can have. In this article we shall discuss how compassion can be used as a meditation practice.

They also awaken the belief that one can change his/her life and achieve success, yet this is not enough. A beginner might create some minor success, but in order to make real changes and create greater success, more understanding, information and skills are required.

Reducing and Getting Rid of Anxieties
By Remez Sasson

I receive many email messages from people asking how to get rid of anxieties. It seems that anxieties and worries are so common in today’s world, and people are looking for solutions.

I am not a physician neither a psychologist. I am writing about this subject from a totally different viewpoint, from the viewpoint of inner development - self improvement, spiritual growth and meditation. This approach might not be everyone’s cup of tea, as it requires time and effort, but the rewards are great, and go much further and beyond reducing anxieties.

There is nothing in the world worth to be anxious about, no matter what your situation is. Anxieties are thoughts tinged with negative feelings and expectations that take control of your mind and life. You are the Spirit beyond the mind, and therefore should be the one in control of your thoughts and anxieties, and not the other way around.

The Mental Noise

By Remez Sasson

Mental noise is the constant chatter of the mind that never stops. It is the inner conversation or inner monologue that constantly goes on in the mind.

Many are unaware of this mental noise, because it has become a deeply embedded habit, and is considered as a natural and inseparable part of life.

How to Calm Down the Mental Noise

By Remez Sasson

After reading the article on the mental noise, it is time to start doing something about it. As you now know, the mental noise is the inner dialogue and constant chatter that goes on in the mind almost all the time. Sometimes we are not aware of it, and at other times it is most disturbing and distracting the attention.

When do you become more aware of the mental noise and find it disturbing? When you need to focus your mind on a certain activity, such as studying, reading, solving problems or anything else. At this time you become more aware of the buzz and constant flow of irrelevant, and often useless or distracting thoughts. This is the mental noise.

Negative Thinking and Failure

Negative thinking is an obstacle to happiness, improvement and success. It causes laziness, low self-esteem and unhappiness, and is the number one reason for failure.

In her book, Slimming Starts in the Mind, Dorina Sasson addresses the problem of negative thinking, and provides solutions and advice on how to substitute negative thinking with positive thinking. Here is an excerpt from her book, where she writes about negative thinking and failure:

Negative thinking anticipates failure

I am sure that you are familiar with the term "Negative thinking". It is a mental attitude of dwelling on negative thoughts, and letting fear, lack and worries run your life.

The success industry has turned into a huge machine, creating a growing number of books, videos, audios and workshops, all promising big and quick success, without any effort. All these products create a sense of euphoria, great expectations, and often, also frustration. The producers of many of these products make great promises, and tell you that all you need to succeed is just a little of your time. Sometimes all you have to do is just repeat a few affirmations or visualize a goal a few minutes a day, and you will soon enjoy great success and the fulfillment of your dreams.

Can this be true? Does everyone who reads the book, listens to the video or participates in the workshop become a great success? In spite of all these products and promises, how many really succeed? How many really successful people are, in relation to the entire population?

10 Steps To Working In Harmony

By Lynn Hull And Julie Molner

It is said that life moves in mysterious ways. None of us can imagine what might be possible when we decide to step out, take a risk and work in harmonious partnership with someone to fulfil a shared passion. We offer our 10 steps to working together in harmony that we learned along our way.

We are two very ordinary women, born on different continents, with different backgrounds and different cultures. Neither of us had a huge master plan, and certainly no great ideas about fame and fortune.

Although we haven’t yet achieved fame and fortune, we have co-authored a book while faced with many obstacles; first we had no clue how to write a book or move forward at each phase, second we are divided by the Atlantic Ocean. The completion of our book is a huge accomplishment for us and representative of the limitless possibilities through co-creation.

Importance of Time Management

By Remez Sasson

What is time management?
It is a set of principles, practices, skills, tools and systems that help you use your time to accomplish what you want.

Why is time management important?
Time management is of great importance to your personal life and career success. It teaches you how to manage your time effectively and make the most of it.

Here are a few of the reasons why it is so important, and how it can help you use and manage your time more advantageously:

1. Time is a special resource that you cannot store or save for later use. Everyone has the exact same amount of time each day. Time not well used cannot be retrieved.

2. Most people feel like they have too much to do and not enough time. They blame lack of time for their poor finances, unachieved goals, stress, bad relationships and not exercising their body. Wise time management can help you find the time for what you desire to do or need to do.

How to strengthen Your Motivation
By Remez Sasson

Being motivated is important for anything you do, whether it is studying or making friends, learning a foreign language or bodybuilding, starting a new career or improving your financial condition. It is also important for success with self improvement and success in meditation. It is a driving force that is required for anything you do, small or big.

Motivation is the driving force that keeps you energized and focused on your goal. It gives you the inner strength to go on and do whatever is required to achieve goals.

From what I see and hear from people, many lack motivation, and this leads to laziness, lack of ambition and to dissatisfaction. In order to achieve anything, one has to strengthen the motivation.

Passion, ambition and desire are the driving forces that lead to success, without them, your goal cannot be accomplished. Passion, ambition and desire energize your thoughts, in the same way that the electric current energizes and operates machines and appliances.

If you focus the energy of ambition and desire into your goal, you'll make your goal possible and within reach.

Look at people who have achieved success. They did not attain their success just by thinking about it in a lukewarm way, they were moved by passion, ambition and desire. Though their road was bumpy from time to time, passion, ambition and desire pushed them forward, until they achieved the success they pursued.

Much is spoken and written about wealth. Many of us dream about having a life style supported by unlimited funds, indeed this is the basis for lotteries run world wide.

There is a paradox to in the research which has been done looking at the levels of happiness and satisfaction of those who have earned or won large sums of money. Money it seems, fails to buy a sense of fulfilment and contentment for a high proportion of those who attain their dream of being rich.

Is it the dream of having money which is flawed or our definition of wealth?

What is intuition? The standard definition is "knowledge gained of something without the use of reasoning or the five senses". Intuition manifests as inner feeling of certainty about something, understanding something without words, or as an inner voice telling us to do a certain thing or refrain from action. This week' article is about learning to use your intuition.

Today's article begins with Eric Butterworth' quote, "Prosperity is a way of living and thinking, and not just money or things. Poverty is a way of living and thinking, and not just a lack of money or things."

What is prosperity? It is abundance, growth and success. Prosperity does not necessarily mean wealth. It is an attitude of abundance, a feeling and belief that there is more than enough of everything for everyone. It is a way of thinking without limitations, and believing that everything is possible.

Poverty is limited thinking, self pity and negative expectations. Prosperity is open mindedness and expectation of the best. These are attitudes - points of view, and attitudes and points of view can be changed. If you think and feel prosperity, you will obtain it in your life, as more abundance of money, possessions, love, happiness, freedom or wisdom.

We hear so much about self-acceptance from people who follow or teach personal growth and spiritual growth. What is self-acceptance? Does it mean accepting your weaknesses or negative habits and doing nothing about them? Does this mean accepting your behavior, attitude and life style, and doing nothing to change and improve? This can be an easy way to give in to laziness, and to having good excuses for leaving everything as it is.
