my question is this... when do u think the best time for meditaion and why? I try to meditate late night and sometimes i can clear my head but most times not and in the morning i feel to groggy to meditate. thanks all
The best time to meditate is when you have 10-20 minutes of uninterrupted time to go within and concentrate on your breathing. I tend to focus my energy more on the act of contemplation instead of meditation. (Unfortunately, I seem to fall asleep every time I try to meditate.)
I focus my attention during the day on one of the textbook exercises in A Course In Miracles, and look at the implications of what it is saying and how I might incorporate the idea and/or material into my daily life.
Hope this help!
thanks, sure did. i was watching a video that said we should meditate = our age so since im 21 i should meditate 21 min. when u meditate how long do u go for and when ever i think about this it messes up my whole attempt at meditation because im stuck in the act of thinking....i just feel hopeless at time...

Well, I heard from some of my friends who meditate, it's best if you do it if you want to go to sleep. It's most recommended for those having difficulty sleeping.

The best times to meditate is when nature is most in balance which would be dawn - when night starts to change to day and dusk when day starts to become night. Ideally, you meditate in nature to get the full benefit but if that does not suit you, at least be sure to open a couple of windows and allowing fresh air to circulate in the room.
To address the grogginess issue you might try some simple warm up exercises to first wake yourself up. It is difficult to go from sleeping directly to meditation for this reason. This is also an excellent way to loosen up the body after a night's sleep. The movement will circulate energy in your body and wake you up so you can be alert for your meditation. Doing this on a regular basis (morning is really ideal) you will set the tone for your entire day. Hope this helps.
The best time to meditate is any time you actually sit down to do it!
And the best time to meditate is different for each of us. For me, first thing in the morning is ideal, and again around the time my business day ends and before I'm hungry for dinner. (Not that I actually DO meditate at these times every day!)
For me, late at night ensures I'll be fighting sleep. That's also when my motivation is at its lowest ebb.
hello guys...
thanks for sharing information....
In my opinion and practice, I meditate any time that is comfortable for me so it should really be a time that suits you, however, it is beneficial, if at all possible, to have a regular time to meditate.
I find that it is more effective to meditate when you are not hungry or at least one hour after meals so you are not distracted by a full stomach that may restrict the movement of your diaphragm during deep breathing. It's also important to wear some loose fitting clothes for the same reason. The essence is to make yourself as comfortable as possible for maximum benefit.
As others have said, it is important to avoid bed time or when you are tired, otherwise you will fall asleep, unless your primary intention is to use it to invoke sleep. In that case, I would call it relaxation exercise rather than meditation.
Personally, I always meditate first thing in the morning for 15 minutes to start my day and then allocate two different times during the day (I only use one of these) so that if one doesn't happen maybe due to work commitments, I use the next slot for a "full" meditation.
Hope this helps.
I was wondering if there is a certian time of day that would be most benificial for meditating. I know that anytime is a good time, but is there a certain time that is best for maximum results? For example - would it be best to meditate in the morning before you go to work or during the day when you are feeling stressed? - in the evening as soon as you get home or just before bedtime? - when you are at your most stressfull point of the day or most relaxed? Does anybody have a favorite time that seems to work best?by (Cody)
Any time would be good for meditation, but if you are looking for a specific time, I would recommend the early morning, before any of your family members woke up. Plan to have enough time, so you won't feel time is running and you need to stop meditating to go to work.
What I do sometimes is night meditation. I begin to 7pm and I finish at 7am without any interruption but to drink water or go to the bathroom.
When I do that, I pratice mala meditation ( beads process and chanting mantra) and I do fixity too.
It's not easy but after that your will and your state of being is so great.
Whenever you have time that will not be interrupted.

I think the best time for meditation is in the morning , right when you wake up and before you start your day. I practice this daily and because of this I maintain calm throughout the day. Mindfulness meditation helped me understand myself and others as well, and because of this I am able to go through my day as it comes.
Anytime when it's quiet is best for me. For me it's usually late at night, because we live in a busy area.
Morning is best time for meditation, its provides you more benefit.Well personally i meditate whenever i have free time or feel stress.
