Dare to do Mistakes
There is no end to perfection. Each time we do something good we feel that it can be done better. If we take another person's opinion the hassles are more. There won't be any satisfaction. As perfect people we will not be able to forgive ourselves nor others. We will find it difficult to cope with deadlines, which results in stress. It only affects our physical and mental health and results in low self esteem. We will become workaholics and not have time for ourselves nor for others. Perfection comes with experience. As Albert Einstein quoted "Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new". Only if we commit a mistake, we can learn from it and avoid it from happening again. We need the courage to do mistakes and see if people notice it. At times, committed mistakes add to creativity. We must only be open to criticism.

RE: Dare to do Mistakes
Yes, we must be open to making mistakes. I agree with the saying that we learn more from our mistakes than we do from our successes. I have often done something right, only to wonder how I did it.

Expecting perfection of ourselves or others is full of problems as you mentioned. Every mistake becomes another reason to believe "I'm not good enough" etc.

On top of that, even perfection changes. I know of a few Olympians whose perfect '10' 20 years ago would barely get them in the competition now.

Very true. Before I was adamant to trying some things new coz I was afraid of failure, of mistakes. But then I realized how will you know if you won't ever try?

That's why these days, I am trying everything new like it was for the first time, and I forgive myself for making mistakes coz I know I'm not perfect!

shriram_v, perfection is problematic word. It is stagnant . Funny, it is the ultimate illusion . The ultimate appearance of things. Consider western art, it the old days they would work on a painting in their studios for along time. It was all about reaching an idea. Their paintings were processes staked on top of one another. It was a peculiar way of looking at time. Very stiff and ridged . Not very intuitive .... When Impressionism came about it was really about syncing with light. To really do this, you have to be very present . Da Vinci spoke much about this in his notebooks and he struggled to deal with the art and culture around him which were on a different mind set. You can tell he was so much more into his observations an notebooks and was board with the type of art of the day.... The impressionist struggled to but they went with their intuition.. In zen art, they had time to understand it's a celebration of process. As with the light, we are always in change and the world around us as well.

RE: Dare to do Mistakes
If we are freelancing we need to convince only our clients but if we are working in a team we need to convince every member of the team including the team leader apart from getting the client's final approval. Instead of presuming whether people will like our work, we can do it as per our satisfaction and then ask them if it is good or any changes need to be made. This can help us work more confidently with least distress. There are a very few people who observe minute details in our works and point out specific mistakes but most of them judge the overall quality of our work and give a general opinion. it is better to do the work as good as possible and then take suggestions of other people to make it as best as possible.

You are absolutely right adart123. We cannot judge our performance without facing the challenge and we cannot understand our problem without making mistakes. There is always a first time and every successful person has come the hard way by committing mistakes and learning from them. We need the courage to encounter failures in our path towards success.

Someone who hasn't made a mistake hasn't lived at all.

Do not waste your time avoiding mistakes that you fail to do what is good and right. Avoiding mistakes leads to inaction.

RE: Dare to do Mistakes
We are all here in this life because we have made mistakes in this and previous incarnations. So nobody alive is perfect. To be perfect is to be free from all karma. Those who are free from karma aren't among us anymore but in an advanced sphere of existence not known to average man. Making mistakes is a learning process. Just enjoy the process, learn from your mistakes, and every future attempt will be one step up the ladder to success.

Avoiding mistakes and speeding up the process of self-development can be learned, no matter what area of your life you want to develop. The SGR program is an excellent way to avoid repeating past mistakes. Although its focus is on wealth, it applies to all areas of life. Check it out

RE: Dare to do Mistakes
Thanks for your feedback ophiocus. Mistakes are something we hesitate to do in our work place, while working in a team, freelancing or in business. Nobody is perfect. it is better to do the work as good as possible and then take suggestions of other people to make it as best as possible. One of the problems that arise in a workplace is ego clashes between team members within the organization. Accepting our mistakes and being open to criticism are a part of our journey towards success. Sin on the other hand relates to life as a whole and is based on ethics and morals. If we perform sin to satisfy selfish desires it is wrong, but if we do it to save the life of others or for self defense it is right. For instance, hiding a shocking news from a heart patient or killing for self defense is not a sin. The two extremes of human emotions are fear and depression & anger and frustration. Hesitating to take a step further due to the fear of failing in our endeavour is a mistake by itself. Losing control over our words and thus over our actions is another mistake we tend to do. Accepting mistakes & forgiving ourselves for the same and accepting others as they are & forgiving them is the righteous way to live.

Setbacks are like speed-breakers in the fast-pacing journey of life indicating that we must slow down and think before taking decisions.

RE: Dare to do Mistakes
We must learn to Fail. Learning to fail is always viewed as a negative setback.
But if we only stop for a moment to realize....It is the greatest inspiration for Success.

We have to face facts, we are not a perfect people so we will never reach perfection no matter how hard we try.

But Failing should inspire all of us to push through our limitations, make us stronger
and force us to do the best job we possibly can. It will give humility, and take away the need to be perfect.

Failure should make us work smarter, and give a feel of accomplishment,
knowing that although not perfect, we can overcome a complex challenges.
