I am 31 and pretty much as of late dont have much going for me. I am just getting over being addicted to herion for years and trying to get back in the gym and get my health back but it seems that I need alot of help just being positive. I feel like the world is on my shoulders I have quite the drugs now it seems like everyday life is beating me ,just my bills, work and such things like that. I really want to make these changes and try to start every other day but something seems to always get my sidetracked? Well thats a bit about me in a nutshell I hope to read and learn as much as I can here. Thanks
Well congratulations to you! This I think is a good place to be. Another thing to think about is to fill your mind with positive thoughts, aspirations, read a good book, and exercise. Sounds like you're on the right path. Here's a quote that fits(I hope) what you're going through...
"The thing that is really hard, and really amazing, is giving up on being perfect and beginning the work of becoming yourself."
Anna Quindlen
I know I've had my share of negative thinking and down times. I try to read inspirational books and I even subscribe to a couple inspirational message services so i get positive messages to my inbox daily.
here's one to check out: Inspirationalquotes4success.com I hope your life just gets better and better! Blessings, Jonathan ps, I can recommend some great books also!

RE: new here
Hi everyone,
I find that an excellent way to develop and maintain motivation to do something is to spend some time to think about what matters most to you (your values),
what you you want to accomplish (your goals) and the *benefits* you will have when you complete your goal(s). Write down the benefit(s) and frequently remind
yourself of them whenever you need a motivaitonal boost. Also, create a list of prior major accomplishments and read it whenever you need a motivational boost
to remind yourself that you have the ability to succeed. Always remember, *you* can accomplish whatever you are capable of doing if you put the *focused *effort in to work towards it.

RE: new here
I wanted to see what was here like most new arrivals, I am experiencing change with my life going in new directions, uncertain where to turn, I seek inspiration, wisdom, & support to repair, prepare, & resume my journey. Life is a teacher and I need to be a better student. At 54, I aim to resume control that I relinquished to others often at the risk of losing it for nearly 30 years. It is a frightening position to discover the power is mine as long as I find out how to use it correctly to protect it, I am uncertain what to do. I cannot continue to stall life and need to begin again.[/i][/font]
I\'ve become seriously isolated and have been for so long, it has now become a physical position as well on a mountain without transportation I feel a little lost. I have spent my life learning to hide & be invisible and have become too adept at it. I need a small but seriously connected group of friends to act as my family & community. I\'ve posted only a few things but I would add any particular knowledge that anyone would like of me.

I\'ve undergone a great deal of change in my life over the last few months in terms of my business, home and car. My partner and I are now on a rebuilding process and we are beginning to see some progress all be it a only a small amount.
I began attending a local Spiritualist church earlier this year, however this took a back seat recently because of our struggles. We both hope to be returning in the near future.
I\'m looking forward to connecting with other members for some great discussions.

Hi Paul, I can tell from your posts that you have known some life which your photo confirms. I wish you patience as you discover more of this new path in your life. I have been at the crossroads a little too long uncertain I am recovered and prepared for the next lap. I\'ve managed to isolate myself into a corner which I was trapped and now I am free but where to go and how.
