I'm curious: especially for all the go-getters out there, what will you sacrifice in the name of success?

RE: what would you sacrifice for success?
1. First, I hate sacrifice! So, I will find another way to achieve success without sacrifice anything (Ok, think that I'm little selfish).
2. Second, if I don't find another (except that sacrifice), I will do it, but with note, if what I'm sacrifice is really big, I won't do it. (I won't sacrifice my family).
3. Third, I know many people that achieve their success with little sacrifice, so I think that big sacrifice for success isn't necessary!

RE: what would you sacrifice for success?
I think the word “sacrifice” depicts a sense of “lack” in a Universe that is infinite in abundance. Linking success with sacrifice really depends on your definition of success. It is possible to have setbacks along the way of success, which is part of the success trail.

But if what you are aiming to achieve is a goal worthy of you, then the process of getting there becomes rather less daunting/tedious in that it increases your skills and knowledge, and above all, your self-worth. If, for example, “giving up” watching your favourite soaps on TV or going to the bar most evenings to drink with your mates means that you achieve that goal you are passionate about (you land that huge contract, you get that promotion at work you have wanted for so long), then it is hard to see this as a sacrifice.

I would consider sacrifice as trading something huge/important for something small or insignificant to me.

I will sacrifice sleep. I will sacrifice socializing. I will sacrifice alcohol and drugs. I will sacrifice my image.

Well, thanks all for your ideas and output.

I think that we can't have it all--at once. We may have something, but something's got to give. or be given up.

My name is glacie and I am a new forum member.I hope I will have many good friends here, and surely I count myself as lucky since I am now in this community.Looking forward to your forum and what everybody has to talk about. And i like this topic sounds interesting.

Maybe some people have reason why they sacrifice their success.Maybe for the sake of family and love.Family and love are the major reason why people sacrifice their success. And if your tired enough and you want to make your life happy you sacrifice everything.

some will sacrifice their health, like you said, becoming sleep-deprived.

Some will stay up late for overtime, etc. But I don't know for me, it won't be a sacrifice, since I'm always a night owl

I would sacrifice the success. Why? Because when you really desire something the first step is to let go of it.

In my opinion, it all depends on your purpose: http://www.selfgrowth.com/articles/the-p...your-goals

If you follow your heart, your true purpose, the sacrifices you'll have to make won't feel like sacrifices.

To your success and happiness,
