Do you feel laziness is holding you back and preventing you from being active? Are you procrastinating everything, or do you follow through with your decisions? Are you allowing laziness to dictate your life?

How to develop inner strength and the ability to get up and do things? Things do not get done by themselves. Do you wish to keep things as they are, or do you want to make positive changes in your life?

Here are a few tips and strategies to overcome laziness:

1. Use Visualization

Visualize yourself doing the very thing that you feel too lazy and reluctant to do. Imagine yourself doing it energetically and enthusiastically.

There will probably be inner resistance, yet continue visualizing that you are acting with interest and love.

Feel that you have already accomplished your task, and enjoy that feeling.

2. Make a List

Make a List of things to do.

Arrange them from the easiest to the more difficult, and start doing them right now. Put simple, easy tasks at first so as to avoid strong inner resistance.

Congratulate yourself after accomplishing each task, and mark it as done in your list. Gradually, being a doer will become a habit.

3. Do Small Acts

Do small acts that you usually avoid doing. They will strengthen your willpower and self-discipline.

By doing something that you incline to procrastinate or which causes you inconvenience, you strengthen your inner muscles.

4. Take a Walk

Do you wish to go for a walk but feel lazy to do so? Go out and walk right now. Consider it as an exercise that strengthens you.

Doing things you feel too lazy to do strengthens your ability to resist laziness.

5. Do you Chores Now

Do you have a chore that you must do, but you prefer to postpone doing it at some other time in the future? Go do it right now.

These could be small acts, like washing the dishes now, going out to throw the garbage, or calling somebody on the phone.

6. Motivate and Energize Yourself

Always look for ways to motivate and energizing yourself. As a beginner, set achievable goals that are easy to accomplish, and which you can easily motivate yourself to follow.

Doing small acts such as these is a great way to train your inner strength and strengthen your ability to overcome laziness.

When to start? Right now. Get over the inner resistance to take action. This might not be easy in the beginning, but with persistence, you will win.
