What are positive feelings?
These are pleasant feelings of happiness, satisfaction, confidence and the expectation of success. These are feelings of compassion, love, tolerance and understanding.

Why do you need positive feelings?
They make you feel good, energetic, happy and able and willing to take action to pursue what you want to attain and achieve. They also make your life happier and easier, make you more likeable and improve your relationships.

How can you create positive feelings?

Below you will find a few tips and suggestions to help you create positive feelings.

1) Become aware of the importance of positive feelings and how they can improve your life.

2) Refuse to be involved with negative thoughts and feelings.

3) Upon waking up in the morning, smile and say to yourself silently or audibly: “I am going to have a wonderful day today. It is going to be a happy and successful day. I am going to stay patient and positive in every situation.”

4) Often, during the day, visualize for a few moments some happy moments and situations from your life, a place you enjoyed visiting, or being with people you love.

5) When things make you angry, wait a few seconds before reacting.

6) When you feel some despair, anger, unhappiness or frustration, don’t succumb to these feelings and let them grow. Visualize something happy, read something that makes you happy, repeat a positive affirmation or just try to create some happy feeling inside you. This might not be easy, as the negative feeling might be too strong, yet, do your best, and no matter how many times you might fail evoking a positive feeling, if you persist you will be able to change your attitude and feelings.

An excerpt from the writings of Paramahansa Yogananda

Read, think and meditate on the following excerpt from the writings of Paramahansa Yogananda. Try to go beyond the words and realize what he means. The more you can calm down the flow of incessant thoughts in your mind, the more you will be able to realize what Paramahansa Yogananda means in these words.

“Your being has two sides — one visible, the other invisible. With open eyes you behold objective creation, and yourself in it. With closed eyes you see nothing, a dark void; yet your consciousness, even when dissociated from form, is still keenly aware and operative. If in deep meditation you penetrate the darkness behind closed eyes, you behold the Light from which all creation emerges. By deeper samadhi, your experience transcends even the manifested Light and enters the All-Blissful Consciousness — beyond all form, yet infinitely more real, tangible, and joyous than any sensory or supersensory perception.”

Here is a question somebody asked me, which is relevant to a great number of people:

“I cannot concentrate on things, and I get some things in my mind which really come again and again while doing things, and this makes me very sad. Please help.”

What you focus on grows. If you keep focusing on worries, you only encourage those disturbing and distracting thoughts.

Acknowledge, without letting this worry or discourage you, that you have a problem with concentration, and resolve to do your best to solve it.

Tips on how to overcome disturbing and distracting thoughts:

1. Get enough sleep at night. Some say that one needs 8 hours of sleep, but this is an individual matter, as some people require only 5-6 hours of sleep, and wake up energetic and refreshed.

2. Whenever possible, without avoiding your duties and responsibilities, stay away from what stresses and worries you.

3. Believe that you can change the situation. It is just a matter of dedication, desire, inner work and time.

4. Read the article about concentration at:
www.successconsciousness.com/index_000004.htm,
and then start practicing the first concentration exercise at:
www.successconsciousness.com/index_000005.htm

5. When you can perform the first exercise as required, move to the next exercise.

6. When thoughts disturb or distract your mind, try focusing on what you are doing more attentively. Don’t use force or fight the thoughts, just pay more attention to what you are doing at the moment.  If these thoughts persist, analyze them, see what they are, and acknowledge that they are just thoughts, and there is no reason in the world to be controlled by them. If you can treat them with disinterest and detachment they will go away.

7. Keep positive, and don’t get discouraged if you fail to practice these instructions or if the disturbing and distracting thoughts persist.

Article written by Orna Ben-Shoshan

Have you ever stopped and asked yourself what stands between you and the person you aspire to be? Consciously, almost every person seeks love, success, abundance and happiness. For many people, getting there seems to be a complicated task. Well – it all starts in your brain.

Our thoughts and attitudes create our reality. We have the potency to implement free will in order to control them and shape our reality for the better.

A simple process will help you investigate existing thought patterns that may be standing in your way and blocking your progress.

The Icon of the Divine:
“So God created Mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created him;” Genesis 1, 27.

This verse, known to us all, demonstrates a fundamental universal law: As Mankind was created in the image of its Creator, it echoes the creator’s attributes. Let’s focus on one property: the capability of creation – the creation of our own reality.

The existence of all things materializes in the same process: thought – word – deed.

In case you are wondering why the blog has not been updated for more than a week, the reason is that I have been very busy for the last few weeks, and therefore had little time writing new articles for the blog and the website. I have also a lot of mail to take care of, which I intend to read and reply. I believe I will have more time from next week.
