After daydreaming about something that you would like to come true, do you destroy this daydream, by telling yourself that is just a daydream and it would never come true? Do you make negative comments about your daydreams and trash them away as being just impractical fantasies?

Daydreams can come true, if you make no negative comments about them and truly desire and believe they can come true. Do not destroy the daydream by denying it the possibility of materializing, even if there is a wide gap between it and your actual life.

Be careful of what you daydream. It might come true if you really believe and desire it. Do not daydream about what you don’t really want to happen, but only about what you truly desire.

A new article has been added to the positive thinking section of the website, called “Being Positive in good times and bad times”. Here is an excerpt from it:

“Though there so much talk about positive thinking, few really understand what it is. Being positive doesn’t mean ignoring what is happening around you and living within some kind of a “positive bubble”.

You cannot expect someone going through problems or disasters, or living in difficult circumstances, to ignore to his/her present condition and start thinking positively right away.

It is easier to think positively when in comfortable situations, but not when in the midst of problems, disasters or a harsh situation, unless you are trained.

Being positive, like any other skill, requires gradual development and training. No one can speak a new foreign language, before studying and practicing for some time. A person, who is not trained, cannot lift heavy barbells or run or swim like an athlete.

Saying that everything is going to be all right, smiling with no reason or ignoring problems and dificulties, without trying to solve them, is not being positive. It is being unpractical.”

- What happens if you observe your thoughts?

- What happens if you ask yourself where do your thoughts come from?

- Who is thinking all these thoughts?

- Are you your thoughts, or are they something that occur to you?

- Do your thoughts belong to you, or do they just pass through your mind?

If you keep asking yourself these questions, in time, you will discover that you, the Real You, is not your thoughts and is not dependent on your thoughts. By trying to observe your thoughts, with a bit of detachment, you will develop calmness, inner peace and silence, and the ability to look inside, beneath your thoughts and the ego-personality. This sometimes leads to awareness and knowledge of the Real Self – the Spirit.

Concentration exercises and meditation, can also lead to the same experience. They too, calm down the mind, which is always busy with thoughts, and lift the veil of thoughts hiding the Consciousness within – the Real Self.

When you look around you, watch the news or read the newspapers, what do you see? You see people of various nations, religions and groups, some living n harmony with others and some don’t. Some hate or fight each other, and others try to live in peace.

You see people with problems and people with aspirations and ambitions.

Everyone thinks and looks at the world through the mind – ego – mental programming. It is like looking at the world through colored eyeglasses. Every person lives within his/her small world, which is often the only reality for him/her.

Galaxy MessierDid you try to get out of this small world, to expand your consciousness beyond it? You don’t need money to do so, or travel to some distant place. You may have had a glimpse of this inner expansion if you practice meditation.

What happens when you read about far away stars and galaxies? What happens when you see pictures from outer space? Do you feel how small Earth is and how petty and not so important are all problems, ideas, ambitions, desires, feelings and thoughts that come from the ego, and all the events on this planet?

A good listener is not only popular everywhere, but after a while he knows something.
- Wilson Mizner

Do you dominate the conversation or do you let other people talk too? There are a lot of people who like to talk about themselves, about what they have done and about what they have not done, about their health, ideas, etc. They hardly let other people open their mouths.

People get pleasure from speaking about themselves, but if they always speak about their achievements or their problems, people will get fed up with their egoism and will avoid them.

Conversation is a two-way activity. A person, who dominates the conversation, might feel good about it, because he or she attracts all the attention, but he or she might be avoided the next time.

If we are willing and able to listen to others, we will gain a lot:
