Quotes on Ambition and Success

Quotes inspire, and are often condensed words of wisdom. If you think deeply on a quote, you will find much more than just an ispiring sentence.  When reading quotes, always read “between the lines”, as this will awaken your intuition, and brings up guidance and deeper understanding.

Quotes on ambition and success can awaken more ambition, and provide understanding of what ambition and  success mean.

Here are a few quotes about ambition and success:

Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.
Thomas Jefferson

Before success comes in any man’s life he is sure to meet with much temporary defeat and, perhaps, some failures. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest and most logical thing to do is to quit. That is exactly what the majority of men do.
Napoleon Hill

Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success.
Napoleon Hill

Weak desires bring weak results, just as a small amount of fire makes a small amount of heat.
Napoleon Hill

You can start right where you stand and apply the habit of going the extra mile by rendering more service and better service than you are now being paid for.
Napoleon Hill

As long as you’re going to think anyway, think big.
Donald Trump

Ambition has one heel nailed in well, though she stretch her fingers to touch the heavens.
Lao Tzu

Keep away from those who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you believe that you too can become great.
Mark Twain

Passion, Ambition and Desire

In one of my previous posts I have mentioned Dorina Sasson’s book ‘Slimming Starts in the Mind’. Here is an excerpt from her book, about the role of passion, ambition and desire in achieving any kind of success.

Passion, Ambition and Desire
By Dorina Sasson

Passion, ambition and desire are the driving forces that lead to success, without them, your goal cannot be accomplished. Passion, ambition and desire energize your thoughts, in the same way that the electric current energizes and operates machines and appliances.

If you focus the energy of ambition and desire into your goal, you’ll make your goal possible and within reach.

Look at people who have achieved success. They did not attain their success just by thinking about it in a lukewarm way, they were moved by passion, ambition and desire. Though their road was bumpy from time to time, passion, ambition and desire pushed them forward, until they achieved the success they pursued.

Now, you are probably asking yourself, how can you produce enough passion and ambition to slim, in spite of past failure, inner resistance and maybe also some laziness?

Motivation and Ambition

By Remez Sasson

Motivation is an important ingredient for success. It is the power that kindles the fire to do things and to act, and has much to do with ambition and desire. In fact, without ambition and desire there is no motivation. When motivation is strong, there is ambition, and when there is strong ambition there is motivation.

Often, people get motivated to do something, learn something, accomplish something, but this motivation is too often short lived and evaporates after a little while. How do you feel after reading something that inspires you, or after watching a movie that awakens your ambition to succeed? You feel the desire to experiment or accomplish what you have read or seen. You feel a sense of euphoria and happiness, but too often, these feelings go away on the same day or the next one.

Why does this happen?
Because you don’t really want to achieve what you have read or seen.
You are too busy and forget about it.
It requires too much effort.
It requires that you make certain changes in your life.
It takes time to accomplish goals.

How to Stay Motivated

By Remez Sasson

Motivation to act, do things, study or attain success in any field often comes through outside triggers. The desire and motivation can arise after watching a movie, reading a book or hearing about someone who has achieved success.

The motivation that arises is often short lived. How many times have felt elated and motivated to follow a desire or ambition, after watching a movie or reading a book? What happened to the desire and motivation half an hour later, a day later or a week later? In most cases it has evaporated. Why? Either because the desire was not strong enough, you lacked enough inner strength and persistence, or your day-to-day life made you forget it.

A single, one-time motivational trigger is usually not enough. Certain events or situations might arouse in you motivation and ambition, and drive you to make resolutions, but after you are out of that situation, everything returns to normal and you forget your resolution.

Success requires constant motivation, besides other qualities. So how could you produce a constant flow of motivation to carry you through obstacles, laziness, fears or negative thinking?

Make a list of what you find to arouse motivation in you, such as:

# A list of motivational books

# A list of motivational movies

# A list of inspiring quotes

# Success stories

# Photos of things you want to do

# Photos of things you want to get

# A list of people who have an uplifting effect on you

Every day, devote some time to one or more item on your list. In this way you can keep the motivation, and ambition alive.
