Ophiel ( Edward c. Peach )was an occultist and teacher, who taught and wrote about esotericism and the occult during the 1960 – 70′s. His books focus on the practical side of the occult, and are like a precious gold mine of practical information and instructions.
I have read most of ophiel’s books several times, many years ago, and though his style is somewhat unusual, he delivers his message quite clearly.
Ophiel gained his knowledge through experiments and practical work. He said that because he was not a member of any group or fraternity, he was not sworn to secrecy, and therefore could reveal all the secrets and laws concerning the occult and magic, the subjects about which he wrote.

It is interesting to note that Ophiel is the name given to the spirit of Mercury, one of the Olympic spirits. He is the teacher of magical arts and is able to convert quicksilver into the Philosophers Stone.
I tried to find some more information about Ophiel, but could not find any.
Ophiel died in San Francisco in 1988, at the age of 84.

I have read all Ophiels works except The Art of contacting Deniurge.
I have a fairly good idea of contents but I would be interested to hear from a student who has read it.
I inherited 4 of his books from my cousin- plus 3 full boxes of other occult books- the first book I’m starting on is The Art & Practice of Astral Projection.

I am interested in finding the person of whom he chose to continue his works as well.
Anyone have luck with astral projection?
I also have an aunt that attempted to write Edward Peach at the address provided in one of his books. This was several years ago, and she did not recieve a response. We both share a great admiration for Ophiel and his many books.
I knew this guy. He was quite a trip personality-wise. He was the real deal as far as what he wrote. He came to a party at my house once and was very funny, using lots of double speak to the guests. His place in W.Hollywood was an apartment building that he appeared to own. Some technical things in his books are unusual as far as the elemental compounds on the Tree of Life. If anyone is conversant with this area, I’d be interested in discussing those odd attributes. I have been through them for years (since early 70-’s) and can account for his ideas and others that are traditionally different in numerous ways. The Cabala magic book is the best starting point to discuss, however i have lots of his writings and know what they contain. Thank you Daniel 624 sverdlin@aol.com
It is sad to read here that Ophiel has passed on to the world beyond. May his gentle Soul rests in Perfect Peace. i love his writings and bought four or five of his books in the early seventies.
