Self-confidence is freedom from doubt, faith in yourself and in your abilities, self esteem, and the inner conviction that you can go through any task or action. It is the mark of inner strength.
Developing self confidence is a must, if you wish to succeed in life. You can develop self confidence by developing concentration power, willpower and self discipline. You can also develop it by doing small things in your day-to-day life that strengthen it, such as making a small decision about any matter and following it, overcoming laziness, or trying to talk with someone that you feel a little shy of facing.
Self confidence is affected by how you think and believe people see you. The matter is that you are not inside their heads, so you don’t really know what they are thinking of you. If you have low self-esteem, you would probably believe and feel that they don’t have a high opinion of you, which will of course undermine your self confidence.
There is some misunderstanding about the meaning of detachment. What is detachment? Does it mean being indifferent, lazy or lacking warmth and compassion? No, this is not true detachment!
True detachment is a state of not getting disturbed or agitated by external events and by yours and other people’s emotions and thoughts. It is a state of staying calm and in control of yourself and your moods in every situation, without feeling being harassed or hurried by people or circumstances.
Detachment shows itself in lack of attachment to the results of your actions, and in accepting the consequences of what you do. Instead of getting nervous, angry, agitated or unhappy, if things go wrong, you stay calm and try again. In this sense, detachment shows itself as inner peace, inner strength and courage.

Do you hold your breath while concentrating intently on something? Many do so, as if holding the breath helps to concentrate. This of course is done unconsciously, but it causes physical and mental strain, which is absolutely not healthy and disturbs the concentration. You have to be aware of this tendency of holding your breath, and when it happens, relax your body and start breathing normally. After all, how long can you hold your breath? After a little while you will feel strained and exhausted and will have to breathe in.
One of the website visitors asked the following question:
“Whenever I want to concentrate, I have to hold my breath. Otherwise I can’t concentrate properly. The problem is I want concentrate more than a minute. Can you help me?”
Chris Odle writes in his book ”Practical Visualization’, how to obtain a certain amount of money using visualization. Here is an excerpt from his book:
“Obtaining a certain amount of cash
Decide how much you want. Relax. Visualize a bank; It’s no ordinary bank; but a bank where unlimited amounts of funds are available absolutely free of charge.
Think for a name for the bank. See it in your mind’s eye; it could be something like ‘Universal State Bank’ or ‘Free Bank’.
As you can imagine, there’s a bit of queue inside, but people are dealt with surprising quickly. Very soon you reach the cashier. He/she smiles and asks you how much you want. You tell them your requirements and immediately they get the right amount of money out. You feel great as they pass it over, and off you go. As you walk out you feel lighter and grateful. ‘It’s also easy’, you think to yourself. Now spend a few moments visualizing what you will do with the money.”
Quoted from ‘Practical Visualization’ by Chris Odle.
You can find many detailed examples of how to use creative visualization for obtaining money and other things, in the book Visualize and Achieve.
