Just look around you! Can you see anyone helping an old lady cross the road, a man sweeping the road every day to keep it clean, the traffic police or a woman saves a small puppy from an accident? These are the unsung heroes of our society.
These people work and do great deeds silently and without expecting anything in return. There are many unsung around who work meticulously so that the work is accomplished.
People like company employees, workers or volunteers make great sacrifices in order to live and work. They do not expect anything in return. They do not get any recognition for their work. These unsung heroes work every day for the betterment of the society, but are hardly ever prominent. You see athletes or cricket players being cheered upon, but who will cheer these real heroes?
There are many institutes who recognize and appreciate the work of unsung heroes. Lowell Milken has been working in this field for many years and has an institute who praises the unsung heroes of the society.
In every field, there are real unsung heroes who make it happen and create a difference.
If you take an example of a music concert, there are so many things that can go wrong. But the people back stage play the important role of organizing the entire event.
There are many music bands that travel all over the world to perform their shows. It is not possible to perform any show without the help of unsung heroes.
Let us have a look at the unsung heroes who make it happen.
Like the old saying that behind every successful man there is a woman, in the music world, behind every successful soloist, there is his or her accompanist.
For many years, accompanists have been thought to be less skilled than solo musicians. They get their names on the bill and seldom nod from their fellow partners.
Apart from accompanists, there are many other unsung heroes because of whom the music concert proceeds without any hindrance. There are many tours where around 100 bands perform back to back. So who are the real heroes of this grand music festival?
There are almost more than 400 people who travel with these tours for a majority of the time during the grand music festival. These people work for the entire time without complaining and stopping. They get up at 6 am every morning to set up lightings, stages, vendor booths or prepare food.
Production engineers play essential role in organizing the entire event. It is a huge challenge to organize such a huge event and make the bands perform efficiently.
Every tour has to have a medical personnel or first aid personnel. These people are always on their toes to help injured people or recover them from fever or rehydrate them.
During these huge tours, many vendors take their chance to put up stalls for CDs, T-shirts or souvenirs. These vendors stand in their stalls for the whole day to make their product sale. Thus, these are also the unsung heroes.
Apart from the vendors, every tour has their own accompanying cook who has to prepare food for almost 400 people every day twice! For us it sounds nearly impossible, but the caterers have made it possible. During the entire tour, they cook foods for the participants anytime they want.
There are also the bus drivers who do a marvelous job of driving on a stretch when everyone else is sleeping peacefully.
