An Amazing Story about Belief
I want to share with you an amazing story about believing, which I like very much.
This story depicts how people pay lip service and don’t really believe what they say.
That’s why goals often fail to come true. You might think about them and wish they come true, but actually, you do not believe your words.
On the other hand, if you truly believe, no matter how naïve this belief might seem to you, you create a strong power that can change situations and circumstances.
Believe and act accordingly, and things will start to change.
Here is the story.
The Boy, the Rain and the Umbrella
In a big region in Africa, there was a drought, which had a destructive impact on the fields, animals, and all the people of the region.
The people saw no way out of that awful drought and felt desperate and hopeless.
As a last resort, the older adults of the tribes decided to meet and figure out together how to handle that horrible situation.
At the gathering, one old man said, “Let’s all meet tomorrow at dawn at the bottom of our Holy Mountain and then climb to the top of the mountain and pray for rain.”
All the people thought it was a good idea, and early the next morning, hundreds of people came to the bottom of the Holy Mountain.
Among the people who came to pray for rain was a young boy with an umbrella in his hand.
People looked at him and giggled. “Why did you bring the umbrella?” they asked.
“Aren’t we praying for rain?” asked the boy, “I want to be ready when it starts falling.”
This boy truly believed it was going to rain.
You Need to Really Believe, not Just Wish
This beautiful story points out that wishing is not enough. You also have to believe that you will succeed at whatever you wish for.
When it comes to finding love, a strong belief enables you to rise above self-doubt and past disappointments, and expect success. Without a strong belief, you block new opportunities.
A strong belief that you are going to find love strengthens your motivation to persevere and makes you confident enough to overcome shyness.
A belief that you will find your soul mate would give you the power to take initiative, be assertive, and look for ways to realize your wish of having love in your life.
This story means a lot to me; therefore, I have an umbrella in my car, near the driver’s seat, all year round.
Whenever I face a challenge or need to handle a difficult task, I caress the umbrella to remind myself to believe that whatever I do will bring me excellent results. That’s my unusual prayer for success.
